To find your saved Reels on Instagram, go to your profile, tap the Menu (three lines) in the top right, and under How you use Instagram tap Saved. Every Reel and post you have saved is there, along with any collections you made, and only you can see it.
That is the whole answer if you just need the location. Below are the steps for each device, how saving actually works, what to do when a saved Reel seems to have vanished, and how to turn a pile of saved travel Reels into something you can use on a trip.
How to find saved Reels on iPhone and Android
The steps are the same on both phones. This follows Instagram's Help Center as of September 2026.
- Open Instagram and tap Profile or your profile picture in the bottom right.
- Tap Menu (the three lines) in the top right.
- Under How you use Instagram, tap Saved.
- Tap All posts to see everything, or tap a collection to see only what you filed there.
Depending on your app version, Saved may also split your saves into tabs by type, so look for a Reels filter if you only want videos.
On iPad
Tap your profile picture on the left side of the screen, tap Menu in the top right, then tap Saved under How you use Instagram.
On a computer (instagram.com)
Click your profile picture, then click Saved. You see the same saved posts and collections you have on your phone.
On Instagram Lite for Android
Tap Profile or your profile picture in the bottom right, tap Menu, then tap Saved.
How to save a Reel (so it shows up there)
If a Reel is not in Saved, the most common reason is that it never got saved in the first place. A like and a save are two different things on Instagram.
- To save a post: tap the Save icon (the bookmark) below it in your feed or on a profile.
- To save a Reel: tap the three dots (Options), then tap Save. This is the route Instagram's Help Center gives for Reels.
- To save straight into a collection: tap and hold Save, then pick an existing collection or tap New collection.
Filing Reels into collections as you save them is the single habit that makes Saved usable later. A collection called "Lisbon" is far easier to open than scrolling through two years of everything. Saved Reels not showing? Check these first
You liked it instead of saving it. Liked posts live somewhere else. Go to Your activity, then Likes, to see the 300 most recent posts you have liked, per Instagram's Help Center. If the Reel is there, open it and save it properly this time.
You are looking inside a collection. A collection only shows what you filed into it. Go back to All posts in Saved to see everything.
The creator deleted it. When a creator deletes a post, it is no longer visible to anyone on Instagram, so it disappears from your saves too. There is no way to recover it from your side.
The account is private. Instagram notes that when a private account's post is added to a shared collection, only people who follow that account can see it. If a saved Reel shows up blank or unavailable, check whether the account went private or you stopped following it.
You are signed into a different account. Saves belong to one account. If you switch between a personal and a work account, check the other one.
Your app is out of date. Menu labels move between versions. Update Instagram from the App Store or Google Play, then look for Saved in the profile menu again.
Save these places before you forget them
Share a supported TikTok or Instagram link to Dream Trip, check the places it finds, and keep them together on your trip map.
Who can see your saved Reels?
Only you. Instagram says that only you can see the posts you have saved, and the person who posted it cannot tell that you saved it.
The one exception is a collaborative collection. Anything you save into a collection you share with friends is visible to everyone in it, and they can add or remove posts too. Your regular saves stay private.
Organizing saved Reels by collection
If you already have hundreds of saves, do not try to sort them all. Instagram lets you move posts between collections, remove posts, rename a collection, change its cover photo and delete it (Help Center), but doing that for a whole backlog takes hours.
A faster approach:
- Create one collection for the next place you are actually going.
- Scroll your saves once and file only what belongs to that trip.
- Leave the rest. It can wait until the next trip.

Getting the places out of saved travel Reels
Here is the catch with saved travel Reels. A collection called "Rome" holds videos, not places. It cannot tell you which of the twelve restaurants you saved are near your hotel, or which ones you can fit into one afternoon. You end up pausing each Reel to read the sign in the background and searching for it by hand.

Can I save Instagram Reels to Google Maps?
